Butvar™ B-98 (a polyvinyl butyrol resin) is more hydrophilic
(wettable) than other substrate materials. It is an alternative
support film to Formvar
as reported by Handley & Olsen
(Ultramicroscopy 4,(1979) 479-480). Films prepared from
Butvar™ B-98 are stronger and have extremely strong adhesion
properties, which gives a very good film over to slotted or mesh
types grids.
Standard working solution :
0.25% Butvar™ B-98 in Chloroform.
Stock solution: 1% Butvar™ B-98 in
Chloroform.
