Cryovials®



The Cryovial® is designed for storing biological materials at temperatures as low as   -190°C but should be used only in the gas phase of liquid nitrogen. Both the cap and  tube are  manufactured of Polypropylene and have the same coefficient of expansion, which ensures an equally secure seal all temperatures. A silicone seal between the cap and tube ensures a positive, leak proof seal. Tubes have a white marking area and the cap can be color coded with a Capinsert™. Cryovials are sterilized by gamma radiation and packed in unique tamperproof bags of 100 vials/bag. The round bottom Cryovial® can be centrifuged up to 14,000g.

All vials are 12.5 mm diameter and fit standard storage cans. Use Cryovial® Workstation Rack and Cryovial® Storage Boxes.

Cryovial® Workstation Rack




Made of polypropylene, this autoclavable rack can hold up to 50 cryogenic vials. The vials will securely lock in each well and will not turn. The cap can be easily unscrewed with one hand. The location of each Cryovial® is identified with an alpha-numeric index. This compact rack is stackable  and supported by antiskid rubber feet .
Available in three colors. Size 10 cm x 20 cm x 2.5 cm high.

Storage Boxes for Cryovial®


These durable cryogenic storage boxes are made of extra strong polycarbonate. They are  designed for  use in temperatures between

-190°C and +121°C. The boxes are autoclavable and  accommodate 81 Cryovial® tubes. A transparent cover allows the user to view the contents of the box. The cover is keyed to the base to prevent misalignment. The surface is printed with a series of numbered (1-81) squares and accepts writing with markers. A unique color coding system uses colored plastic grids to separate the cover from the base of the box. Each storage box is supplied with an innovative vial picker to facilitate easy removal of the Cryovial® from the storage box.
