Harris Uni-Core™ is a
unique, patented scientific sampling device designed to
simultaneously cut, retrieve and store samples from various
materials such as paper, paint chips, cloth, films, tissue,
films blood cards and many other type of materials.
The tip is protected by
a removable cover cap. The precision Swiss
machining ensures accurate core diameters ranging in size from
0.35 to 8.0 mm inside diameters. Double edge grinding results in an edge that cuts rather than
shears source materials, all but eliminating artefacts and cross
contamination.
The body is made from
polypropylene plastic., built in razor sharp cutting tip with a
plunger for the expelling of the punched materials. Harris Uni-Core™ is
individually pouched and ethylene oxide sterilized. Harris Uni-Core™ is a
reusable or disposable sampling tool, ideal for tissue
processing or forensic applications.
Harris Uni-core is
designed to be disposed of or
they may be cleaned and reused. The cleaning procedure is as
follows:
Clean tip after each sample extraction by punching blank filter
paper, rinse with ethanol, autoclave for 20 minutes at 250°F
and 15 psi. It is generally recommended that after
autoclaving 3 to 5 times that the unit be replaced .
